The AI Takeaway Chrome extension shows the takeaway for the YouTube video you are watching. It only acts when you click its icon.
When you click the extension icon, it reads the address and title of the current tab to identify the YouTube video. It does not read page content, your browsing history, or any other tabs.
The YouTube video ID, address and title are sent to aitakeaway.net together with your AI Takeaway sign-in session, to look up an existing takeaway or create a new one. Creating a takeaway uses credits from your account, as on the website.
Takeaways you have opened (so they load instantly next time, kept for up to 7 days), your last known credit balance, the IDs of videos still being processed, and temporary state for the sign-in window. This data stays in Chrome and is cleared when you sign out.
When you click a timestamp in a takeaway, the extension moves the video on that tab to that moment. It does not collect anything from the page.
The extension has no ads and no third-party analytics, does not track the sites you visit, and does not sell or share your data. Signing out in the extension also signs you out of aitakeaway.net, because they share one session.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
